FIND OUT HOW TO GET A FREE POSTER OF THIS WEEK’S PIN-UP BELOW!
DDD Kickstarter week 4!
WOWIE ZOWIE! When this week’s AMAZING guest pin-up by Vince Dorse – the Reuben Award winning cartoonist and creator of the PHENOMENAL webcomic UNTOLD TALES of BIGFOOT – hit my inbox many moons ago I literally jumped out of my chair, spun around twice, and danced a jig! So, if you’ve just had the same involuntary reaction, don’t fight it…let those happy dances flow, Daredevilers.
Are you done dancing yet? Cool, but don’t sit down just yet because if you dig this pin-up (and, man, if you don’t then the world just doesn’t make sense to me anymore), BOY-OH-BOY do I have some AWESOME news for you!
Just in case you were not aware, we are totally in the final stretch of the DDD Kickstarter campaign, and the support we have received thus far has been beyond our wildest dreams. So, as a special THANK YOU to our readers/backers we are offering an 11″ x 17″ POSTER of this pin-up as a FREE GIFT!
HERE’S HOW TO GET YOUR FREE POSTER: First, to be eligible for the free poster you need to back (or have already backed) the DDD KS campaign with a pledge of $15 or above. Then, during the SURVEY phase – which comes after the KS has ended – you need to enter the following PROMO CODE:
“Dorse DDD.”
Got that? Make a note of the promo code, so you won’t forget? Good. But, there’s more…
If we are able to raise a total of $9000.00 dollars by the time the KS campaign ends on OCTOBER 23rd, then we will collaborate with Vince on a BRAND-NEW DDD short story! Backers will get an EXCLUSIVE PDF of the story delivered directly to their inbox, and later the story will be serialized here for all the world to see.
PLEASE NOTE: The 315/Dorse DDD story WILL NOT be included in the print edition currently on Kickstarter, as we do not want to delay its release.
Anyway, I don’t want to say too much about the potential story, but it is something that we have had in mind since the very beginning of DDD and the content of this week’s pin-up is a HUGE hint at what will be in store if we can make it a reality.
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD and BACK THE PROJECT if you haven’t already, so WE CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
Also, make sure to head over to www.untoldtaleofbigfoot.com TOMORROW to check out an equally AWESOME pin-up by Danilo Guida, featuring Scout and Bigfoot! Here’s a small preview…
And, be here NEXT WEEK for the kickoff of End(s) of the Earth(s) Chapter Two!
Whew! Lots of stuff going on this week. Remember, to get the FREE POSTER…back the Kickstarter for $15 or above and during the survey phase enter the promo code: “Dorse DDD.”
Anyways, till next week!
-Matt-
Great pin-up! Love the mermaid.
I wholeheartedly agree on both counts, crazyman!
Just a guess, but is the 3 legged diving suit, for Cup, a custom job?
Nice Poster!!!
I’m looking for where to add “Dorse DDD.”, do you mean in the comment section, or did I miss it?
After the Kickstarter is over, we will send a SURVEY out to all backers, getting your address and other information we need to fulfill your rewards.
The survey is where you enter the promo code, “Dorse DDD.” I would suggest making a note now, so that you don’t forget to enter the code when the time comes.
Thanks for clearing that up.
What if you already own the poster, more or less, because you were the one who drew it and instead you’d like, say, a ham sandwich? What’s the code for that? -v
“Get it yourself DDD.”?
“Dagwood DDD”
That’s the best I got
Thanks again, Vince!
… believe it or not, I have considerable air time in the old Navy mark VI- not a bad rig for mixed-gas salvage work (below 120 feet). Kinda claustrophobic though… and the dog suit becomes three-legged if there’s no leg to stuff in the sleeve in question. The HELMET and BOOTS for the critter are the fancy fabrication- the suit itself is canvass that has been rubberized. The big trick is to remember that the dog might inadvertently hold it’s breath on ascent- the results are deadly.
Reel him up SLOWLY…
Fer them what don’t kow, the Mark VI was nothing more than a Mark V modified for HELIOX usage- still in use in many parts of the world
As always, Sarge, you are a wealth of knowledge…
All I know is that somehow Vince took something that on paper sounds ludicrous – Dog in a Diving Suit – and made it appear completely natural and whimsical at the same time. No easy task, and he makes it look effortless.
BTW, Joe- there’s a cuddly sorta fish right behind ya.. but I doubt she will do much more than… well… hmmm… ‘family friendly,’ eh? (you DO know how families are MADE, right?)… well, shine her a smile and see what she does…
