Past and future collide!
Doc’s final report on Incident #172 – A.K.A. The Pitch Black Day – has been declassified and released to the public and all crewman in the interests of full disclosure. For those among you interested in the finer points of the story, it should shed some serous light on things previously left in the dark. And, while it does indeed tie up some nagging loose ends, I’m sure some will find its allusions to future events to be the most intriguing revelations in the report. However, I think we can all agree that the biggest bombshell within is a reference to what would seem to be a rather significant event in the Daredevil’s past…
What is Incident #1? What tragedy is Doc referring to? What the heck is going on? As always, keep reading, Daredevilers!
Yep, Doc’s report pretty much wraps up the Deep Dive Daredevils’ story, but lest you forget, Pitch Black Day is also a freaking sequel to Bram Stoker’s Dracula! With that in mind, be here NEXT WEEK for ultra-secret-final LOST CHAPTER of DRACULA finale! The end is nigh, so make sure to RSS, Like, and Follow so you don’t miss out.
Welp, we’ve been working harder than ever here at the ThreeOneFive Ranch to ever expand the horizons of the Deep Dive Daredevils. We’re making plans like you wouldn’t believe, compiling lists, making phone calls, and even putting together epic spreadsheets. No joke it’s almost turning into legit work, folks!
Soon, we’ll be able to share the fruits of our labors and then it will be up to YOU to help drag it across the finish line. Stay tuned for future announcements.
In the meantime, stop by the Sunday Bonus Lunch for Evin’s (ahem, what’s a nice yet condescending way of putting it, oh yes) UNIQUE take on the ending of Pitch Black Day.
Anyways, till next week!

Do I get a NO PRIZE for guessing Abigail’s chosen port?
B**b**, if nowhere near The British Isles, is certainly right at the door to The British Raj, isn’t it?
She will want to hunt down a large rogue feline … … dadunta dunnn … dunnn … dunnn, dadunta dunnn … dunnn … dunnn …
I love the way you stack the final page of Doc’s report on top of that particular photo and some of Abigail’s correspondence. At the left there is the memo in which she asked for an update on agent JB’s status, that the Cigarette Smoking Man – pardon, Director SISX – decided to leave unrequited? Well, she had her way to get an answer.
Finally, it’s nice to see that JB managed to teach her being a fine host: Entertaining, stimulating conversation, and, if not demure in the company of men, at least putting them at ease. — Let’s never speak of the first time she invited Doc to a conversation …
It is in the mail, my friend, and will arrive Tuesday of next week!
So: No fuss, no muss …
That’s the beauty – or the convenience – of the NO PRIZE ….
Just noticed, you are already putting together epic spreadsheets? Those are just the tools to achieve mayhem beyond limits!
Well, actually Dan is putting together the spreadsheets, but yes, it is a powerful tool that can be used for either good or evil.
In our case, it is most certainly being used for good, and I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it…
What, you couldn’t be bothered to write pages 1-5?!
Looking forward to events to come, “Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning. ”
Well, the question is: Could you be bothered to read pages 1-5?
Also, what’s the fun in being told again, in full detail, the whole story we just f****** watched? This comic is a sequel to Dracula, not to Hercule Poirot …
Agreed, but, when I stop giving someone a rough time every once in a while, it only means that I don’t like them…
I wouldn’t ever want to give that impression here…
Great reference to Undiscovered Country (my 4th favorite ST flick), but I think Pitch Black Day is much more analogous to Wrath of Khan. Therefore I shall say…
“I feel…YOUNG.”
Or it could have been a reference to Peter Pan, which is where the line originally came from
It was definitely a duel reference.
BTW I want to pimp out the Book “The Child Thief” by BROM.
It is a masterful re-telling of the Peter Pan story, and is beautifully Illustrated (which Brom is known for). It not only adds a great deal to the classic tale, but also brings out the horror in the original story, that is just under the surface.
Most good Fairy Tales are just horror stories in disguise…
Has anyone else noticed that Dan only ever shows up in the comments when he feels the need to correct me?
I’ve come on and commented on other things, it’s just the most fun to correct you
I have to agree…Undiscovered country was a better use of the line then the source material it came from. It also was a proper and fitting end for the original enterprise…unlike a certain movie that came after.
“It was…FUN.”
No…no it wasn’t.
Worst part is that he died so heroically at the beginning of the movie, just to go out like such a punk at the end of the movie.
That, and he deserved to die in space, not on some lifeless planet.
I just read the blog and, if it is true, then either someone really needs to cut down on the recreational “Hiking Trips” to Colorado, or that is one trippy storyline…
If it really is set in Feudal Japan, then it is only just a nod to Evin’s extremely outspoken love of all things Manga, as being far superior to Modern Western Comics in general!
Just because I read, does not inherently mean that I either understand, or retain
You should know by now…never listen to Evin.
EVER.
NOT in a million years.
I believe the word you’re looking for is ‘effect’ not ‘affect’. The Doc should know the difference.
