The Doctor…?
Wait, did Custer somehow find his way onto an episode of DR. WHO? No doubt that would be a hell of a crossover, but there has to be some other explanation. Hmmmm, I wonder who they could be referring to? Now, that’s what I call a mystery!
Anyway, the panel at the end of this page makes me feel like this the moment in the “movie” where the music swells and the camera lingers on the scene for an extra beat. That moment when the characters and the reader have a moment to reflect and realize that nothing will ever be the same again. Is that analysis too on the nose? Probably. All I know is I like this page.

I think it should be quite obvious to everyone why exactly the gun didn’t work:
1- Danilo didn’t draw a muzzle flash and a line coming out of it.
2- Angela, therefore, did not color said flash and line red.
3- Ben wrote “Klik” 3X under it, to further emphasize that it did not fire.
As for the Doctor, I think TKG hit the nail, on the head, in one of his page 7 comments.
If Dr. Who does show up, then I demand a “Red Dwarf” Cameo as well!
It also could be that if your Eugenics score is not over 9000 it’s safety does not disengage.
Maybe he just left the safety on?
There is the big shiny red button on the top of the gun to consider….since Custer is from an era where breech loading rifles are new he might have not noticed that.

I think there’s a Murphy’s law about that Crazyman….or perhaps we should call it ‘Custer’s Law’ now.
