GLA-DOOM!
So, I love this splash page. To me, it’s like an illustration “of true events” that you might see in a newspaper from the Civil War era. I’m sure our eagle-eyed, longtime readers have noticed that Danilo has switched up his inking style a bit for this old timey adventure, but if not, this page really hammers home the point.
Let me tell you, I can’t even properly express how awesome it is to work with a guy like Danilo, where you can literally ask him to do anything…and not only does he do it, he takes it to a level beyond.
I mean, I haven’t actually asked Danilo if this correct, but to me this page looks like it was laid out to take advantage of the fact that readers have to scroll down to see the bottom of the page in our webcomic format. The page is a splash, yes, but it can also function as a two panel page with the scroll and the water line in the illustration almost bringing you down into a whole different scene under the water. Danilo?
Be here NEXT WEEK, as we DELVE DEEPER into the murky aftermath of the Hunley’s daring attack! Do NOT miss this one…trust me.
Anyways, till next week!

“Too close, a little too close”. Looks like the Hunley might be going down for the count! Will Captain Custer and his stalwart crew survive? Tune in next week; same Daredevil time, same Daredevil channel!
Couldn’t have said it better myself!
Well, what can I say… Thanks!
I like this page too. About the composition of the page, I think it was made by itself in the description of the scene… you asked to show the upside zone, and the inside the water zone, so inevitably you have almost two panels divided by water.
What I remember I intentionally did, was to make the “down the water” zone bigger, as our main character is in the submarine.
I´d like to add that Angela really did a GREAT job with the colors in this one!
