The Men Who…
Callously ripped…destroyed any chance at happiness…
Those “Men” sound like some bad hombres, as they say. I wonder, is there truth to what she’s saying about our erstwhile heroes, Doc McCarver and Captain Custer, or is it all a pack of lies? I’m sure Joe’s wondering the same thing right about now. Nothing worse than ambiguity…nothing’s worse than not knowing what to believe…
A fella can lose himself in a world turned upside down. Let’s hope Joe is made of sterner stuff.
Be HERE next week as we sink deeper into the Empress’ WEB of DECEIT.
Till next time!

I highly doubt someone as evil as her can truly experience happiness; given that her happiness always comes at the cost of a greater number of people’s misery.
That double-page spread was awesome! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Hmmmm….I am starting to form a very stern opinion that she is not a very nice lady.
As for Joe, he has Cup with him, so he will be OK.
The way she tells the story, from her “point of view” (how much of it is her point of view, and how much of it is her deliberately skewering things and twisting the truth, I can’t really tell, at this juncture) reminds me of the scene in the Chronicles of Narnia, book 6 (The Silver Chair), where a witch tries to dull the protagonists senses while twisting the truth to make them doubt themselves and prevent them from stopping her nefarious plans (it’s a long story…)
Her plot is cut short by one of the protagonists walking to the fireplace and stepping on the smoldering ashes that were making the enchanted smoke, causing two things to happen: the smoke stopped, and the smell of burnt feet quickly counteracted the previous magical effects of the smoke, causing all the protagonists to come fully to their senses…
I wonder what’s going to happen to cut short “mother dearest’s” factually dubious story…
I can’t see the double-page spread anymore!
