MUTINY!
Custer rallies the crew over the rightful captain’s (literal) dead body, not to mention his direct order. That’s a pretty ballsy move where I come from. And even in olden times, it seems, Custer already had a knack for giving rousing speeches when the proverbial “moment of truth” arrived. This is the story of the FIRST Deep Dive Daredevil, aboard the legendary H.L. Hunley! I’m having a blast. I hope you are too…
NEXT WEEK the historical drama continues as things go BOOM!
Welp, last week I was hung over and now I’m sick. UGH. In fact, everyone at Casa Heistand is sick. It’s not good. So…basically I’m making another excuse and wrapping up the blog up well under the expected word count for the second week in a row. Oh, the shame…
Anyways, till next week!
-Matt-
Well, they’ve gotten the torpedo in place; now all they have to do is get away safely. This could be…*trouble*.
I can guarantee “trouble”, Crazyman!
It may be a case of artistic license, but the commander of the Hunley during the attack was Lieutenant George E. Dixon
Yes, I decided to alter the Commander’s name “to protect the innocent” as is often done in tales based off of true stories.
The way we portrayed Dixon (Nixon) in this story – wanting to scuttle the mission, a bit of a cowardly act as Custer points out – was not terribly flattering and I did not want to attribute that portrayal to the actual man.
Aaaah…
That was the reason… very considerate!
An admirable revision. Speak Not Ill of our Honored Dead.
“Ramming Speed” is never the same, without a big guy at a drum, and a bunch of Romans…
I am inclined now to wonder if it is Hell that Custer escaped, and is running from?
- They would most likely have access to a plethora of Hitler’s Interdimensional personifications.
- The word “Devil” is in “Daredevil”
- Dracula has a knack for escaping the pits, why wouldn’t Custer?
- Joe and Cup are just the ones to use innocence to save him.
Interesting theory, T. Gatto.
That scenario would basically make Custer into Spawn, which would be ironic considering Evin now works for the creator of Spawn himself, Todd McFarlane.
Stay tuned!
