Happy New Year!

A year like 2020 makes you (or at least makes me) more appreciative of the good things, and the Deep Dive Daredevils is one of those good things in my life. I am thankful for the 3 guys in the illustration above – working alongside them now for over 10 years to bring DDD to life has been the greatest and most fulfilling creative experience of my life. Working with Dan, Evin, and Danilo is fun, plain and simple. 

But, really, we’re raising our glasses to you, Daredevilers. Many of you have been reading since we launched in the spring of 2012, and somehow new folks are finding their way here every week. Whatever the case may be, we appreciate the time you’ve spend here in our little corner of the internet. Knowing that you’re out there, waiting for that Tuesday update is what keeps us chugging along week-after-week, year-after-year. Thank you.

And, yeah, let’s all do our part (like Joe!) to make 2021 a hell of a lot better than 2020!

Another year is nearly in the books, and that is another year that all of you have kept reading our kooky underwater adventure comic. On behalf of Danilo, Angela, Ben, and the ThreeOneFive crew I’d like thank you all. Your support, year after year, is what fuels this enterprise (if you can call it an enterprise) and keeps it chugging along.

We will return on January 7th 2020….hmmm 2020…that’s the year that EVERYTHING changes for the Deep Dive Daredevils. Hang on to your hats!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is about family and as we get older, nostalgia for the good old days; days when we were young; days when things were simple; days when smiles, hugs, and love were in abundance and often taken for granted.

Here we see just that – our little DDD family in a simpler, more joyous time. If you harbor any affection for the makeshift family depicted above, I would recommend bookmarking this page…

Because sometime in 2019, as we near the conclusion of Beyond Familiar Shores, and the circumstances are more bleak and heartbreaking than ever before for our heroes, I reckon you might want to look back and be reminded why we ALL fight, suffer, and persevere…

We do it for love – for family.

Merry (Early) Christmas!

Well, well, well, it looks like Abigail came up for air from her deep cover operation to exact revenge on Jack the Ripper long enough to send a very *ahem* suggestive Christmas card to Doc. Lucky for you, Doc is a share and share alike type of guy.

Matt is away on important business for SISX (or something, I don’t know), so I, Evin Dempsey, writer extraordinaire am filling in for him this week. Twas the night before Christmas, and far beneath the waves

With Visions of Doc drinking blood besieging his head.

As huge fans of the Graveyard Gang, seeing this week’s crossover cover with the Deep Dive Daredevils for the first time was a THRILL that we here at the ThreeOneFive Ranch still haven’t properly gotten over. Rich’s interpretations of Doc, Joe, Cup, and McGinty are a joy, and he’s infused this cover image with so much life that I can’t help imagining “SACRIFICE of the SEA HAG” play out before my eyes…if only we could turn the page! I mean, we’d been talking to Rich about doing something like for a while – some sort of mash-up of the DDD and GG characters – but, when Rich headed off to the drawing board and returned with this cover to MYSTERIOUS SEA ADVENTURES #9, all of our expectations were blown out of the water!

But, then again, we definitely shouldn’t have been surprised because anyone who reads the Graveyard Gang knows that Rich delivers the goods week-after-week – eye popping artwork, layered storytelling, and inventive tales chock-full of heart. You can’t help but smile at the mis-adventures of Sneezer, Lope, Marcie, Buster, and Presto as they bicker and bumble their way through one spooky mystery after another in their aptly named hometown, Ghostport, Massachusetts. However, the real treat of the GG is that while you’re chuckling at the Gang’s hijinks, Rich is setting you up for moments that are either genuinely creepy, or in the case of my favorite story, “The Return of the Atalanta”, achingly poignant.

Seriously, if you aren’t yet reading the Graveyard Gang, do yourself a favor and rectify that situation NOW!

…There, see, aren’t you happy you listened?

In other news, MAKE SURE you find your way back here NEXT WEEK for the UNBELIEVABLE kick-off of Pitch Black Day Chapter 2! So, yeah, Dracula’s the villain, but if you think you’ve got the story all figured out then you’ve got another thing coming…Chapter 2 launches the STAKES into the STRATOSPHERE (figuratively and literally). Hey Daredevilers! It’s Dan, the not oft heard from member of the ThreeOneFive. But I’m breaking my silence today to bring word of our new members area!

Besides being one of the writers for the Daredevils, I also do all the coding for the website. When we launched almost a year ago it was my first experience with PHP and CSS. The two weeks leading up to the launch we frantically put together the site, barely holding it together with duct tape and spit. Since then I’ve learned some new tricks which has led us to the design we have today. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Evin picking up some tricks too, as he has done an excellent job of taking on the role of graphic designer. So now I’m happy to announce the first part of the Deep Dive Daredevils site that the two of us have designed from the ground up…

The LOYAL ORDER OF DAREDEVILERS is a member experience unlike anything I’ve seen offered by other web comics.
