Wha wha WHAT!?
Is that who I think it…how is that even…what are the implications…etc? Yeah, things just OFFICIALLY went of the chain at the End(s) of the Earth(s). I’m very much looking forward to the speculation in the comments this week.
After writing a million-or-so of these weekly blogs you start to get a sixth sense for what readers are thinking from week-to-week, but this week especially is setting off my Spidey Sense, big time. Correct me if I’m wrong, but here’s what I’m thinking you’re thinking:
“Jeez, I thought End(s) of the Earth(s) was going to be a fun little pallet cleanser after the epic tragedy of Pitch Black Day, and now this? Seriously, are you guys EVER going to let up on Doc?”
No, no we’re not. And, in a lot of ways End(s) of the Earth(s) is the most important DDD story yet. We’re setting up things in this story that will play-out and payoff for YEARS to come. As I pointed out a while back, this is the story where we really started to think about the long game.
Be here NEXT WEEK to get some ANSWERS! Why in the blue heck is there a moldy skeleton wearing Doc’s glasses in the bowels of the volcano? How will an already shaken Doc react? Find out in JUST 7 days!
Welp, I had a super-rough weekend taking care of a sick baby solo while my wife was out of town, so I am going to wrap this up before I start typing gibberish out of pure exhaustion. Momma’s home now and naturally the baby is felling better (thanks a lot, buddy), so it is sleepy time for me.
Anyways, till next week!

Whaaauuu!!! I didn´t see that coming…
Also… is there a hole in the skeleton forehead? That could mean a third eye…or a bullet…!
I think it’s a trick of the shadows across the brow. A bullet to the head would have destroyed the rear of the skull. There’s no cracking or shards visible.
I can confirm that the script did not call for a bullet hole in the skeleton’s forehead.
So…Is a third eye. Or just a shadow…
Nice twist! This should be fun. -v
Thanks, Vince! Fun, as always, is the name of the game.
Here we go through the looking glass… or do we NOW learn where Doc got the education to fuse the Skipper to the ship? …And while we’re at it, is there some time warp going on, and Doc is looking at his OWN mortal remains?
MUWWAHAHAHAHA!
the Old Sgt.
I think “down the rabbit hole” would be more appropriate Alice in Wonderland reference, considering the visuals on this page.
Duh….Duh…Duh…
Can I please be excused, my brain is full…
OK, I definitely did not see that one coming.
So, if there is some kind of alternate reality going on here, then maybe McGinty’s reflection in the dagger, was a McGinty from another world looking out at this reality?
The possibilities are a bit staggering.
With DDD the possibilities are ENDLESS.
Perhaps the device exists to connect or stabilize the boundaries between alternate realities.
Holy Temporal Paradox Batman! *dodges spinning news paper* Either we have an incredibly elaborate ruse….or the mystery of a lifetime.
I think it would be pretty tough to make a replica of Doc’s glasses that would fool the man himself.
So, I’m going with “mystery of a lifetime.”
“Oh, my God…it’s my little Laser-Phaser Gun that I lost while fighting Dracula! I’ve got to get it back to the sub and recharge it!”
“But…but…the Lost Technology–”
“Screw the Lost Technology! I’ve got Frickin’ Laser Beams to worry about!”
