He Now Walks the Path of the Gods…
Tonight I fell into a Youtube rabbit-hole, watching literally hours of old interviews with Kurt Cobain and Nirvana while I waited for the final, lettered page to hit my inbox. I was reminded that the indie spirit of the nineties – personified by Kurt – is burned into my DNA, permeating almost everything we do here. From time-to-time when folks find out that I work on a comic they ask if I make any money doing it, and the answer to that is, “no.” Often, that leaves the questioner mystified. They can’t understand why I would devote so much time to something with no expectation of monetary compensation. Well, I’m pretty sure Kurt would’ve undersood…
Suffice it to say, it will never stop sucking that Kurt chose to burn out rather than fade away.
Till next time!

“Could you back up a minute and explain this in words of one syllable or less?”
Kurt, like Jimi and Janice before him, checked out at the peak of his career. He did not hang on, making a mockery of himself like Elvis, for example.
Which is better, I do not know, but leaving at the top leaves a more beautiful memory at least. Always leave them hungry for more.
True, for the fans, there will never be the dissapointment that is inevitable as an artist ages out of their pime…
But, in Kurt’s case, where he left behind an infant daughter, there was so much left for him to do that had nothing to do with Nirvana or his music career.
Doc, you will be missed.
Maybe see you in a flashback?
I do not think Doc is dead in the conventional sense. He will either be back or something will happen involving his brother reemerging in his place maybe.
I so want to answer this question (and T.Gatto’s above) but anything I say will be spoilers.
