….
In the December of 2001 (that’s darn near 20 years ago for those keeping score at home. Who else feels old?), every comic that Marvel published was completely silent. Now, I KNOW that technically ALL comics are silent, but none of the comics published that month had any dialogue balloons, or captions, or thought bubbles – no copy. They let the art do the talking.
Well, I distinctly remember that month of comics, and rather fondly, I might add. So, I have always been looking for the right page to run silent here in the DDD-verse. Well, this one is it. A fight to the death underwater…sounds pretty silent to me.
Be here NEXT WEEK as a wounded man swims out in to open water toward a GIANT BOMB. What could possibly go wrong?
Till next time!

Lets hope cluster’s suit doesn’t flood before he can get to doc.
I’d worry more about Custer leaking all of his own vital fluids before he gets there…
At least the Admiral is at peace now.
As for the Captain, how will the bullet hole effect the diving suit, and how will his wound effect his ability to dive?
As long as his helmet doesn’t flood, it will be no worse than diving in a wet suit. he may get cold, but as long as he has air at ambient pressure, he can breathe and function. Injury from the wound is another matter.
Couldn’t have said it better myself, MasterDiver.
Thanks for the assist.
I just had a thought of how a Court Marshall would go for this.
An officer, of command rank, left a ship without permission, stole a diving suit, drown an Admiral, and potentially compromised a vital secret mission (that he had just successfully completed). This is also all taking place in time of war.
His defense is that said Admiral was attempting to murder a well respected civilian scientist, and using the mission to cover his crime, then that Admiral tried to kill him when his treachery was discovered.
How much trouble exactly would Captain Custer be in?
Also thanks Master Diver!
Man-oh-man, that sounds like the trial of the century to me…
Somebody call Johnny Cochran!
Don’t forget about the sharks, Cap’n!
A month of silent comics sounds interesting, no pun intended.
We Custer, which is going to kill you first, the blood loss, the cold, or your own principles? My bet would be on the last, but that’s only because we’ve seen you weather worse throughout this comic.
