BWO-OW-OW-OW
I don’t like to toot my own horn, but this page turned out pretty dang AWESOME. Look at Danilo’s layout; it is perfectly balanced. The subs firing down and to the left, and the train’s tuning fork guns firing up and to the right were not in the script – all Danilo. But then, I saw what he did and decided I would do my best with the words and the SFX to maintain that balance. And finally, Ben comes in and lays down the letters and it all comes to life.
Be here NEXT WEEK…for…actually, I can’t quite remember. Seriously, it’s been a long day, and I can’ even…Well, guess I’ll just have to LOOK FORWARD to it like the rest of you. See you in 7!
Till next time!

So, are they going to use nukes or what? I seem to recall that the Custer had energy weapons of some kind…hmmmmm…
That might be in a different time period as custer was part of the custer then so that the D3 could custer while they custer.
TKG is right. This is before The Custer became The Custer because Custer is still intact, has legs, and is not part of the sub.
It’s a train, right? Just tear up the tracks.
Welcome aboard, Ed!
That would seem to be a winning strategy, but if you notice in panel 2 the tracks are also protected by that pink energy field that repelled the sub attacks.
I did notice that, but given that both the train and the tracks have that same protection, the tracks are still the softer target, surely. They were there three hours ahead of time; they could have tried to damage the tracks before the train even arrived. And they must have some way to to some damage despite that field, or this whole attack would be pointless.
Or they could have set up some blockage, as suggested by TKG below. Come to think of it, what would have happened if there had been a sub or some other large solid mass occupying the exact spot where the train arrived in this loop? That seems like it’d be a major safety hazard.
well if they are lucky a sub will sink on the tracks.
Knowing this train, it would just barrel through the wreckage, but the good guy’s will try anything at this point.
I would put an apple on your desk, but I’m pretty sure the front desk would be like “No you can’t go in the school just because you like his web comic”…
On a serious note, do any of your students read this comic? My sons loved Subsylvania and Aquatic Dracula.
Thanks, T. Gatto.
I have given out copies of DDD to quite a few students, and some have seemed to like it. I teach older kids – 16-17 – so, a lot of them are too cool or busy or whatever to give it much of a second look.
However, just the fact that I make a comic ups my street cred in the classroom.
Yeah… This page turned up really good… and with no character at all!
By the way, that pink energy field doesn´t look familiar?
I had to think about it for a few but; it’s the exact same color as the energy from the Maru Delta.
Indeed!!!
Perhaps they need to think outside the box. Specifically, at sapping or undermining the tracks so that the weight of the train causes subsidence.
