Well-Timed Serendipity…
Woof. After yet another week of pure-crazy here in the States, this page’s arrival, as if on cue, is some well-time serendipity, indeed. All of the artificial barriers between Custer and Doc have come down – their prejudice, their preconceived notions of one another, their pride – and all that is left are two GOOD men who choose to be help to each other because it is the right thing to do.
Is this moment a fleeting gesture or the beginning of something far more profound? I for one hope for the latter, and that Doc is correct about the nature of the human heart and its capacity to grow, change, and make us all into better human beings.
Anyway, be here NEXT WEEK when the RACE to the finale of CHAPTER ONE begins! It’s all downhill from here, folks. Buckle up!
Till next week!
-Matt-
YES! Captain Custer is back, baby! And this time, he’s not taking any crap from some time-traveling know-it-all. This is gonna be good…
Is there a FIST PUMP emoji?
It IS going to be good. I can’t wait for y’all to see how this chapter ends!
Great work Doc!
Now all you need to do is chop him in 1/2 and weld his innards to a submarine. Oh, wait there is probably something going to happen before then…
Ha ha ha ha!!!!
Just great…
Yup, just a feeewwww more things to get to before the innards welding.
To be fair, the recruitment poster specifically mentioned: “This is your chance to become an integral part of the submarine force of the future!“
I am SO reading the fine print for anything these 315 guys put out, no matter how good it looks on the surface…
Okay, so I didn’t cheat and look ahead before making my prediction, but…I will not accept defeat! I did not say WHEN the Alternate Reality Futuristic Spanish Inquisition would arrive and put the kaibosh on the Gigs, so it’s still valid. Hah ha!
Logically speaking, of course, this was the perfect setup for filling in the backstory of the loyalty between Doc and Custer. Well done.
If ” Alternate Reality Futuristic Spanish Inquisition” doesn’t scream DDD then I don’t know what does. Ha!
Always enjoy your comments, Thracecius.
Thanks! It seemed appropriate for all the wild speculation that we readers enjoy doing in the comments.
Besides, if I can give a little something back to the creators of one of my favorite comics (besides eventually, hopefully, supporting them with actual legal-tender-monetary-remuneration-like-activity), it gives me a bona fide warm fuzzy feeling. Sometimes feedback loops are a good thing, and “warm fuzzy feelings” usually qualify.
Well how about that, the first guess turned out to be right. Custer was always the honorable sort after all.
