HA HA, Charade You Are!
So, I don’t think we’ve ever done a page that is more of a tease than this one. And, I think it also has to be the first time in popular fiction that a grunt, cannon fodder-type bad guy *COUGH Stormtrooper COUGH* actually does something worthwhile. Usually, they just shoot off-target and die/get knocked out. For once we’re breaking new ground here!
Be here NEXT WEEK when we may or may not reveal just what the heck is going on. You’ll just have to wait and see! However, I can guarantee that the smarmy Giga-Reich Lieutenant will remain SMARMY.
Till next time!
-Matt-
What you are doing here is the Subverted StormTroper.
And of course it’s par for the course with you guys.
And that, good sir, has to be one of the best tropes I have ever read. Thank you for pointing it out!
Gah! We can never escape the tropes!
Why would you want to escape the tropes? Even the page says that they are worthwhile when used properly. I say “trope away” and have fun with it!
Besides, if you’re going to have a comic mirroring/invoking a specific style of comic from the past, you -should- be using the same tropes they used, otherwise it’s not doing a very good job of emulating its precursor.
Oh, and because I’m a horrible person, I just have to say: “Different tropes for different folks.”
hmmm so doc has an airship of some sort? the plot thickens
It’s probably a drone or something similar, but it could also be an observation balloon if he’s keeping “in-character” and using CSA resources to his own benefit.
Interesting speculation, fellas.
All will be revealed shortly.
Is it possible the entire Confederate Army is itself a Ruse, even a projection of sorts?
Also, why isn’t that trooper taking a shot at the good doctor?
I would guess that an energy weapon should be able to reach out to a decent range.
And lastly, where has the good Captain Custer gone off to?
1. Not going to answer this one for obvious reasons.
2. Because he was only ordered to “ready” his rifle, not fire it. Yet, that is…
3. Didn’t he mosey off into the sunset a few pages back?
They’re searching for Pigs on The Wing
Welcome Aboard, Christopher!
I was waiting for someone to notice the Pink Floyd reference in the blog, and the multiple ways it intersects with the page this week. Jolly good.
Thanks for reading!
