The “Time Travel” theory is the most likely but, what if it is a Doc from a parallel dimension, or a clone, or somehow it is a clever ruse?

This must be somehow tied into McGinty’s face in the blade. One person sees his own long dead remains and another sees his deceased friend’s face in the mirror instead of his own.

I’m thinking this is a place where worlds (and possibilities) intersect.

What if he has already succeeded in traveling into the past, but what he found was so horrible (or dangerous) that he was forced to make himself forget the experience, and this is the marker he has left for himself, when it is time to remember?

Once again, the possibilities are endless.

Oh, and poor Joe, at least Cup is represented as best man…

When I look at the page the first time, prior to dissecting it, I only see if the artwork is pleasing, and recognizable, and if I can follow the story line.

When you dissect it, the page takes on whole new meanings. It is like watching a good movie 2 or 3 times, looking at the supporting actors more closely, and otherwise drawing one’s eyes away from the primary focus, to reveal what you might have previously missed.
