Oh, hey, I'm TOTALLY cool with Father doing actiony things a great deal o' the time -- I'd expect that in an adventure series. :-D Just as long as that's not the only thing he does, which you said won't be the case.

Seriously, I do love what y'all are doing with this kick-arse series. If I didn't, I wouldn't have bothered to share my small concerns, which you've graciously taken the time to respond to. I appreciate it! <3

Hey Lisa - Great, great comment!

I am happy to report that there is much more to come for Father O'Flaherty, and none of it has anything to do with lopping heads :) There is also much more to the Father than has been revealed (or guessed at), so far.

He's a part of the cast going forward and as this is a pulp adventure series we will probably see him doing actiony things most of the time. However, we'll also see O'Flaherty doing all of his duties as the Custer's Chaplain, big and small. So, stay tuned...

Anyway, I'm glad you are enjoying the comic, and thanks for your kind words. Make sure to let us know what you think going forward!

I'm catching up on the current run, and just got to this (and the next) page. I admit, I squee'd with delight over seeing the introduction of Fr. O'Flaherty! :-)

I do wanna share my concerns, tho', in relation to his character (and I hope they're unfounded!): I hope that he hasn't been brought in as an apparent vampire-fighting dude if his only means of dealing with them is simply by lopping off their heads. If he's a priest -- a *cleric* -- going up against the supernatural undead, he should be able to take 'em on through his priestly abilities. Because what'd be the point introducing a specifically Catholic priest in a vampire story if he can't do anything different than laypeople?

If it's later revealed that it's somehow possible to save those turned to vampirism, I'll be especially disappointed if he's also presented more as a "lop all the vampire headz!" and not as a man of God distraught over the loss of life and souls, because a priest's primary concern is the salvation of souls.

One more small thing: It'd have been so awesome if the Rosary drawn around Father's hand looked like a actual Rosary, and not a beaded necklace with a cross attached; real Rosaries don't look like that. I know, it's picky, but with the absolutely marvelous attention to detail shown throughout this whole, wonderfully well-done comic, it was just a tad disappointing to see it drawn so inaccurately.

All that said, I do love your comic and happily look forward to future installments. Off to resume catching up on the last few pages! :-)

Thanks for sharing your talent with us! You guys rock! \m/

AWESOME!

I thought, from first glance, that it was some kind of relic encased in the pommel, but the sword of a surviving son of the Templars (which is now my guess) works just fine for me.

As always, thanks for making Tuedays more fun! :)

One thing about the Deep Dive Daredevils is they are not afraid to go in and clean up somebody else's mess. Love that last panel, talk about being prepared for anything.

Danilo's work is always fantastic, so is the rest of y'alls crew. Y'all have a fantastic group there at the ThreeOneFive, always turning out amazing stuff.

And, this is how a wonderful collaborator like Danilo makes a comic infinitely richer than you ever conceived it to be on your own!

I can't say how awesome it is to be surprised by a reference like this! Kudos, Danilo!

Also, there might just be a chance to see the pommel up close in a scene from Chapter Three, which I haven't told you about yet. HA!

Well, I don´t think we´ll get the chance to see it closelly, and I don´t think it would be a spoiler if I told you... (in fact I included that badge without asking the threeonefive, he,he...)
It has the badge of the Templar Knights: two knights shearing a horse, because of their poverty vows. Actually their whole name was The Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon.

I thought it was a nice detail to add to this character you´re about to know.
