Well, the Classical Conan by Barry W. Smith or John Buscema, both with Roy Thomas are simply THE BEST Conan adaptations.
But Giorello and Truman did a GREAT job, considering that high standard they have to match...!

Wow! I didn't expect such a great list, Danilo! Thank you so much! I've heard of Moebius and seen a sampling of his art, I agree that it's great. I'm not sure if I can find or afford works that aren't published inside the USA, but I'll definitely look up what you've provided and see what I can wrangle. As an aside, I'm currently enjoying the Funcom MMO "Conan Exiles", so I'll have to check out those Conan comics you recommend. The original Conan movies with Arnold Schwarzenegger are favorites of mine because they are fun adventures in an intriguing setting/world, especially with Mako's narration! I've found that low magic fantasy has more appeal to me than the others, like Larry Niven's "The Magic Goes Away" stories, which remind me of the Conan setting. One of these days I'll actually read Robert E. Howard's Conan books, I just haven't had much time to read the past several years.

Thanks again for sharing your art and your recommendations! :)

Thanks a lot, Thracecius!
About recommendations for reading... It´s hard to say... I must admit I´m a little lazy for reading, I have periods of intense readings and longs periods of not reading at all, and in those periods I read more books than comics! (The Accursed kings, by Maurice Druon for example, history books about The Catars, The Crusades, stuff like that... Now I´m readind about WW1)

About comics, I mostly buy for the artists. Mosly european or argentine stuff... I don´t like (and I don´t know very much) about US artist from these days, I must say.
Anyway, some authors I follow are:
Rubén Pellejero (DIETER LUMPEN, IDW published it, is GREAT. In fact, I have that version in english, I bought it in SDCC).
Ralph Meyer (UNDERTAKER, it´s a western. In case you like them. I don´t know if it´s in english already).
LE TUEUR (THE KILLER, from Matz and Jockamon, great noir series, I think it won an Eisner or an award like that).
Enrique Alcatena (great argentine artist, he did an elsword of Batman as a pirate, Conan, and other amazing stories beside the US market, he has an incredible imagination and culture. And he did an illustration for DDDs!). Tomás Giorello (he´s a friend and a magnificent artist, he also did an illustration for DDDs! He did Conan and Conan King for Dark Horse, X-O Manowar for Valiant, among others).
Alberto Breccia (He was a marvelous artist, he was a classic, then modern, rupturist artist... he influenced Steranko, Miller, and more...! I had the privilege of studied with him. I highly recommend MORT CINDER, it´s in english, and I think THE MYTHS OF CTHULHU too . His son Enrique Breccia is also fantastic!)
José Luis García Lopez (just to name a few works: Deadman, Atari Force, Cinder and Ashe).
Loisel, Boucq, Jean Giraud (Moebius), Oswal, Mandrafina, Miller, Byrne, Muñoz, Chabouté, Bernet, Zaffino,... and I could continue.

I hope I didn´t bore you!

Touché.

It's good to see you around these parts again, Timothy. I would love to hear your take on long-winding road of a storyline that we find ourselves in the midst of.

You guys rock so hard, the roll fell off and tumbled to who knows where. :)

We really need stories and art like this right now, or at least I do. Stories filled with friendship, struggles, and ultimately victories that were hard won with no few sacrifices. I don't know if it will stand the test of time, but I will always remember it and how it made me feel.

Cheers, McGinty! You're the best mate everyone needs!

P.S. Danilo, do you have any recommendations for stories with art similar to yours? It's a classic style and I don't see it often at all. I'm not really a superhero fan, more of an Indiana Jones adventure type, but if the story is good, I'll read just about anything. :)
