I’ll buy your bet that Joe is a Hitler clone ‘done rightly’ to take over when the time is right. He’s probably the “real” ubermensch they’ve been looking for and his DNA will prove it.

Do I like that theory? Not especially, but it has legs and could be done well probably, it just might not be as satisfying as an alternative and more direct approach.

I find it interesting that someone as young as Joe, who is even younger here, is given a position of such authority.

I still wonder if;
- Theory 1 and 1.5- He is the son, or a clone of, the Captain.
- Theory 2 – The story takes place in his mind, so he is key.
- Theory 3 – He is somehow chosen, and Doc and Custer must keep him close.
- Theory 4 – He has a dark origin, tied to the Reich, and the crew must protect him as much from himself, as from others.
