HAL needs time to process… Does that mean he needs time to process their mother’s death, or does that mean that Custer literally made his last stand, and is half alive, after HAL made a split second decision to split him in twain?

Does HAL need time to “process” Custer, using the spider bot to weave together Custer’s living half? HAL probably doesn’t want Doc to see Custer, till after HAL does his best to save his brother’s ally.

Panels 1 and 2 are a flashback to the briefing that preceded the train heist. We cut back and forth to it pretty regularly a few pages back (Ocean’s 11 style), but as the action on the train heated it up we let it lie for a while, so I can understand how it threw you off.

I think I missed something.

Is that Custer with the Admiral in panel #2?
I figured it was a time lapse, but in #3 it would indicate he was still on the train.

Is the Admiral lying about destroying the cargo? I don’t see a military power (any military power) being willing to throw such a powerful resource away. If he is lying did HAL, or Doc, pick up on the deception?

With all the time that has passed from this event to the Island story line, have the Captain and the Doctor become friends, or do they just share a mutual respect?
