Love the style and artwork on this web comic. Had to say that first.

Secondly, “viola” is a large hand held string instrument (think fat violin). I believe the word you are looking for is actually “voila”, French for “look there!”

Unless you intentionally wanted the admiral to be acting “folksy”, then sure, viola works.

Was Blane the Monorail from Stephen King’s “Dark Tower” works an influence in this strip? There are some similarities.
