I did notice that, but given that both the train and the tracks have that same protection, the tracks are still the softer target, surely. They were there three hours ahead of time; they could have tried to damage the tracks before the train even arrived. And they must have some way to to some damage despite that field, or this whole attack would be pointless.

Or they could have set up some blockage, as suggested by TKG below. Come to think of it, what would have happened if there had been a sub or some other large solid mass occupying the exact spot where the train arrived in this loop? That seems like it’d be a major safety hazard.

Perhaps they need to think outside the box. Specifically, at sapping or undermining the tracks so that the weight of the train causes subsidence.

I have given out copies of DDD to quite a few students, and some have seemed to like it. I teach older kids – 16-17 – so, a lot of them are too cool or busy or whatever to give it much of a second look.

However, just the fact that I make a comic ups my street cred in the classroom.

That would seem to be a winning strategy, but if you notice in panel 2 the tracks are also protected by that pink energy field that repelled the sub attacks.

I would put an apple on your desk, but I’m pretty sure the front desk would be like “No you can’t go in the school just because you like his web comic”…

On a serious note, do any of your students read this comic? My sons loved Subsylvania and Aquatic Dracula.
