Just to be clear, I’m not disappointed in you folks, because the page looks great and is suitably creepy Halloween-y (plus confirms the predictions of a couple other readers), just at my lack of witty banter (YMMV).

Just to confirm…

1. she doesn’t necessarily live near the grave…in my mind Deveraux walked there with here willingly.

2. It is a dark, stormy night on a remote bluff a ways from the village. I would think she would go pretty unnoticed out there.

I never thought it that way!
In films and in comics, and of course in literature, is a thing called elipsis: an omission of actions, a jump in time… Why waste a couple of panels showing an old lady dragging a body? Or perhaps they walked together next to McGinty´s grave… It doesn´t matter!

Is better to start the page with Deveraux already dead and inside the grave, don´t you think?

I’m not sure what is going on, but I’ll bet you can tell all the red headed kids on the Island that Daddy’s coming home.

As for the references,all that could find (thanks Google) was an Italian Thesaurus (nope), and “Chugga Bugga Wugga” on YouTube (added to my watch list), or Insane Clown Posse’s “Shooga whooga bah”.
