- Sounds like a good start for a Ghost Ship story.
- Whatever the immediate aftermath of the explosion, the fate of the ship was tragic. 
To quote the Wiki article &quot;The Confederacy lost 21 crewmen in three sinkings of the Hunley during her short career.&quot; 
That&#039;s 3 times she met the bottom! They kept raising her, and finding another brave crew. This part of her history (which I was not previously aware of) stuck in my mind most of all.
To serve on a ship after being told it had already sunk twice was clearly an act of uncommon valor.</description>
